APPLICATIONS

Whether it’s constant vibration or sudden shock events, isolation systems play an important role in keeping critical equipment, cargo, weapon containers, and personnel safe. Taylor Devices has a suite of proven products that can be used solely or in combination for superior isolation performance. Products are validated utilizing our world-class testing facility and designed in accordance with MIL-DTL-901E requirements.

Shock Isolation

Underwater blasts, or UNDEX shock, pose a significant risk to submarines and ships, not necessarily to the hull structure due to modern technology, but to mission critical equipment contained within such as navigation systems, missiles systems, and weaponry.

Our hard-centering liquid spring shock isolators allow equipment to remain rigid during expected operating conditions such as wave action and shipboard vibrations, but provide efficient shock isolation during significant shock events, and will then reposition the system to its exact original position. These isolators are arranged to provide 1DOF- 6DOF isolation.

Radar Over-Travel Buffers

End-of-Travel Buffers are custom tuned to provide protection in either the elevation or azimuth modes of operation. These products can be designed to accommodate a high drive force (stall torque) by using non-linear hydraulic damping, with high force liquid spring, or elastomeric spring stops at the end of stroke.

Recoil Control

Our custom recoil shock absorbers mitigate recoil shock, metal fatigue, and are often used to control firing rate.
