Space Flight & Launch Support

APPLICATIONS
Taylor Devices has provided engineered solutions for space flight and launch support since the Apollo program, including several vibration isolation systems, high-pressure actuators, machined springs, special elastomer springs and hermetically sealed shock absorbers for many satellites.

Ground Support Equipment

During any launch into space, much of the focus tends to be on the rockets and launch vehicles, however, the ground support equipment (GSE) is just as vital in order to complete a successful launch. One part of the GSE is the launch platform and the launch gantry, which are the steel structures used to support the vehicle along with housing many important mechanical, hydraulic & electronic systems including connection lines.

Since the Apollo program in the 1960’s, Taylor Devices has been supplying NASA with specialized passive energy absorbers for various mechanisms on the launch pad. We continue to work with NASA and several commercial customers to this day on the Artemis and commercial space programs.
