A New Era of Innovation Begins at Taylor Devices with the Alan Klembczyk Development Lab
Taylor Devices held a ribbon-cutting ceremony last week marking the official grand opening of the Alan Klembczyk Development Lab, named in honor and recognition of the recently retired, former President of Taylor Devices, Alan Klembczyk.
During the ceremony, CEO Tim Sopko briefly addressed employees, board members, and outside media highlighting how the development lab was quickly transformed from an existing space at our Buffalo Bolt location in just seven months. The project was led by Manufacturing Engineer, Ben Lorenz, with assistance from Vice President of Operations, Bob Conrad, Aerospace Operations Manager, Dennis Warmus, and Development Lab Coordinator Dan McDonough, with contributions from many other team members.
This new manufacturing space is separate from normal production, and aligns with the United States military’s pivot toward a new model of defense acquisition and development, focusing on accelerating the deployment of cutting-edge technologies from concept to field in months rather than years.
The workspace has dedicated engineering and expert machining support along with extremely capable CNC equipment and 3D printing machinery that allow for creating demanding components quickly. This flexibility enables us to quickly design and build prototypes for customers, potential customers and internal research and development applications.
Thank You!
