NTT Santa Clara SV1 Data Center is a new 4-story building located in Santa Clara, California between the San Andreas and Hayward Faults.  To protect the critical IT equipment inside, the building is isolated using Triple Friction Pendulums paired with 25 long-stroke Fluid Viscous Dampers. The FVDs provided energy dissipation to assist in slowing accelerations and limited the building movement to 32”, which allowed for the use of smaller TFP bearings and a smaller mote surrounding the structure.
